Beware This Cult!

Chapter 3 - Are You Searching?

By Gregory G. P. Hunt, M.D., B.Sc., F.R.C.P.

Something has prompted you to take a peek into this book.  Maybe you are an Adventist and want to see what is being said about you so that you can build up a defense for the future.  Perhaps you are heartbroken that someone else is trapped and you want to offer him some help.  Perhaps you have recently become interested in the Seventh Day Adventist Church as you search for something better in life.  You want some happiness, some way out of your turmoil and fretful station in life.

Seventh-day Adventism will offer you a lot of comfort... at least in the beginning.  It is possible you will find happiness there.   But I do not know any truly happy or peaceful Adventist.  I suspect your chances for happiness are small if you plan on staying with them.

Only the gospel of Christ in its purest form available to you can offer you hope, health and happiness.  Only in God is there a reason to carry on despite the drudgery and pain of this world.  Only through Christ is there any hope for the future - - the Blessed Hope.

The truth of course is available to you in the Bible.  It is not a hard book but is certainly not an easy book either.   With all the deceptions and falsehoods around you can use all the help you can get.  The best Christian book I have read to date is by Billy Graham; "How to Be Born Again".  I would highly recommend this to you and feel it is a must for any Christian.  The understanding of the gospel presented in this book and its encouragement are well worth the time.

I can inform you that your search for happiness will be a difficult one.  However take heart, we have God's promise that He will be with us till the end of the world.  Having started your relationship with Jesus Christ, recall Paul's words frequently.  "And I am sure that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ". (Phil. 1:6)

God is not out to get you or punish you.   His wish is that none of us be lost.  Unfortunately, even God can't have all He desires.  Each of us must want it too.  It is the risk He runs in allowing us to have a free will.
